Global review needs one document owner
When engineering reads English and sourcing reads a local export, version drift becomes a real risk. Language control is therefore part of release management, not just translation.
The fix is simple: tag every export with the same revision and keep the distribution path inside a single library instead of ad hoc attachments.
- Treat translated datasheets as controlled exports, not loose attachments.
- Keep revision tags identical across every language variant.
- Publish downloads in one place so local teams stop forwarding stale files.
Document control checks
These checks are small but stop most mismatches.
| Check | Owner | Risk prevented |
|---|---|---|
| Shared revision ID | Product marketing | Mixed-language mismatch during approval. |
| Central library | Web team | Old files reappear through email threads. |
| Release note | Applications | Local teams miss parameter changes. |
